Proto-Pasta Carbon Fiber PLA (CFPLA) is one of our best selling materials and, with its matte black finish, one of our favorites. Consisting of 15% by weight chopped carbon fiber, CFPLA results in substantially lighter and more rigid results compared to standard PLA. CFPLA does not require a heated bed, and our high-temperature G2 Extruder meets the material's higher temperature requirements easily. CFPLA is perfect for performance applications when stability, rigidity and weight reductions are critical.
Please note that this filament prints best between 210-220 degrees Celsius.
Note: Carbon Fiber PLA is more abrasive than standard PLA and may cause accelerated nozzle wear. Requires the Type A Machines G2 Extruder, now available as an upgrade for all Series 1 3D printers.
