3D Printing in space has allowed for numerous scientific breakthroughs for Space Agencies and Astronauts. With the 3D Printer on the International Space Station, Astronauts have been able to produce tools they could use to maintain the satellite and to complete experiments. Soon they might be able to build replacement parts for devices used for exploring, satellites, and other things.

Moreover, due to this ability 3D4MD a medical 3D printing company plans on using the ISS's 3D printer to produce medical supplies. Instead of having to wait for medical supplies to be sent to them during resupply launches, they could produce them themselves. Medical devices like surgical tools and splints will be printed to see if the plan is possible to carry out.

3D4MD develops and produces medical supplies that have been transported to places that need them. And since Space is "The Final Frontier", it is the farthest place that their tools have been present and used in.
