AIO Robotics explores how in recent years 3D printing has been adopted by schools and universities nationwide. They also report on how its presence has impacted how certain subjects are taught. In a number of schools,  universities, and libraries 3D printers have become ordinary fixtures.

Students are exposed to this technology at young ages and they are learning how to create and build things. Teachers use this tool to help supplement lesson plans and provide visual and sometimes mechanical examples of lessons to children.

At some educational institutions, 3D printers are purchased to help students learn CAD (Computer Aided Design) software, where they could design and print their creations. While in other schools 3D printing is used to better teach STEM and STEAM students.
