There was a time where you needed to get a cast made of plaster to reset and align your broken or fractured bones after an injury.  Although, this method caused infections, ulcers and even amputations because the shape of the cast prevented proper medical inspection, caused sweat to accumulate and had little to no ventilation.  

To solve this problem, a group of young graduates from the National University of Mexico (UNAM) started a company called Mediprint, that manufactures medical devices using 3D printing.

Their main product is called NovaCast, which is a device that solves the problems mentioned above with traditional plaster casts, plus has the advantage of being ten times lighter, removable, aesthetic and fully customizable - one can even bathe with it.
